No Soccer Again - Step Mom Stories

Against my better judgement I decided to assistant coach my stepson's soccer team.  It was a beautiful fall weekend this past weekend.  We planned on attending my stepson's soccer game on Saturday and then heading to my inlaws.  The soccer game wasn't until 4pm so we waited around all day. I had plenty of cleaning to do so that kept me busy.  My girls oldest daughter who is 2 was very excited to see her brother play soccer.  She wanted to wear her cheerleading outfit to cheer him on.  I got her all dressed up and even found pom poms for her to bring.  We loaded everyone into the car and headed to the field.  We got there early so I could help set up.  Finally 4pm rolled around and my step son was no where to be found.  My husband called his ex wife to find out if he was coming but she didn't awnser.  At this point we figured he wasn't coming but I couldn't leave because I volunteered to help out.  I had to stay and coach OTHER kids.  I don't mind helping out but I would have loved if my stepson was there.

After the game we got home and my husband emailed his ex-wife to find out why he wasn't there because we have a court order that requires her to take him to his actives.  Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened.  She doesn't take him to any of his activities so we had to go to court to ensure she does.  However, if anyone is familiar with the court system that doesn't mean that she actually has to follow it.  She doesn't do anything that she is suppose to and knows that we won't take her back to court all the time.  My husband works for himself which means if he has to go to court to fight every little thing she does wrong, he doesn't make any money for the day.

We finally received a response back:

"You sign him up for too may activities.  He does activities all week long and it ok if he misses a couple of games."  We found this interesting since the only acitivies he has during the week is soccer practice and gymnastics for a total of 2 hours for the whole week.

Her response when we told her that she is contempt for not taking him:
"The judge only mean for 1 season not 2 seasons of soccer. "

It was at this point that my blood started to boil but I realized yet again you can't argue with stupid.  I have tried over and over to ge her to understand how she is affecting her son but she doesn't care.  Unfortunately her social calendar is more important.

We will have to go back to court soon to deal with this but really dread doing so.
